Full Details

Outside
The attractive gardens and grounds extend to circa an acre and comprise lawns, meadow, wildlife pond, fruit trees and mature shrubs. There are two terraces front and rear from which to enjoy the superb views of Skirrid Mountain and across the Usk Valley. Part of the rear garden is native woodland with mature trees including beech, oak, hazel and ash. There are several vegetable beds, a greenhouse and tool shed. At the far end of the garden is a wooden shed, used as a summer house. To the front of the cottage is a driveway with space for parking. Nearby are numerous footpaths into the stunning countryside of the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal is nearby.

Location
The cottage is situated at the end of a ‘No Through Road’ above the village of Llanellen, approximately 2 miles from Abergavenny and 1 mile from the A4042. Set in the heart of the Usk Valley and surrounded by some beautiful countryside, the area is renowned for its delightful rural walks through open countryside, woodland and rugged mountain terrain. Llanellen offers a café/delicatessen, village hall and church. The A4042 provides good access to Abergavenny, Cwmbran and Newport. The historic market town of Abergavenny offers a wide range of amenities, including primary and secondary schools, several supermarkets, high street and independent shops and excellent leisure facilities. The A4042 directly has good links to the M4/M5 and M50 motorway networks and the cities of Bristol, Cardiff and Hereford are within an hours’ drive. A mainline railway station can be found on the fringe of Abergavenny.

Agents' Notes
This traditional country cottage is located at the top of a steep hill with only one other property close by (not overlooked). The village of Llanellen is located at the bottom of the hill and a bridge, over the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal, is approximately half way up. Once reaching the cottage, the views are superb and to the rear boundary is woodland and mountain land which is a haven for wildlife.
